April 6, 2011 - Government Shutdown
A fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama by Dexter Yarbrough. Tenth in a series.
Michelle: Barack, you are going to have to stop letting this crap bother you!
Barack: Michelle, I know but it's a lot to deal with. Possible government shutdown, criticism over Libya and now I hear a lot of my black support is upset because I announced my re-election bid Monday - on the anniversary of Dr. King's assassination.
Michelle: Are we any closer to a deal with the Republicans?
Barack: I met with John Boehner and Harry Reid. The conversations are cordial but John is not budging.
Michelle: You have 72 hours to make it happen.
Barack: Yep. Well this happened in the mid-nineties and it back-fired on the Republicans.
Michelle: Keep exuding confidence. Like you do on the dance floor! Even though you look ridiculous!
Barack: There you go with my dancing again. I am a very good dancer.
Michelle: You are very good at thinking you can dance!
Barack: Michelle, I have enough on my...
Michelle: Don't lose your sense of humor, Barack. It's what I really love about you.
Barack: OK.
Michelle: Now check out this funny video before you run off to save the world!
Barack: Oh, no! Is this something that will get me in trouble?
Michelle: Just watch the damn video! It's funny!
Barack: OK!
Michelle: Ha ha ha!!!
Barack: Ha ha ha!!!!
Michelle: Ta-Kwee-Lah!!!!
Barack: Now I'm really going to be in trouble with the black community! Off to solve the budget mess.
Michelle: Yes! And when John Boehner starts crying or Harry Reid gets mad, just remember Ta-Kwee-Lah!!!

They are engaging. LOL.

Looking at what is going on in the news you have a lot more material for conversations to come up with. LOL.
I really enjoy your writing.

The very best line in this one: "Now, when John Boehner starts crying or Harry Reid gets mad...."
If we see Boehner getting mad and Reid crying, that'll be change we can live with! LOL!
