The Morning Conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama #9

Updated on October 24, 2011

A fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama by Dexter Yarbrough. Ninth in a series.

March 20, 2011 - Brazil

Traveling on State business to Latin America.

Michelle: Brazil is a beautiful country. And President Dilma Rousseff is doing a great job as Brazil's first female president.

Barack: Yes. It is beautiful here.

Michelle: OK, Barack. What's on your mind?

Barack: Nothing.

Michelle: Listen. You didn't drag me along on this trip to not talk to me. I know when something is bothering you.

Barack: You do, don't you?

Michelle: Of course! Remember that first time we...did it?

Barack: Did what?

Michelle: Had sex, dummy! You were all bummed out because, well, you felt your performance was, let's say, less than perfect.

Barack: Michelle! The Secret Service is in the next room!

Michelle: They know everything there is to know about us. Anyway, you were all bummed out. I reassured you that everything would be OK. And since then everything has been fine with us!

Barack: Yeah! I especially like it when you lick...

Michelle: Barack! The Secret Service is in the next room!

Barack: Uh huh!

Michelle: Anyway, nut! I am more than just your wife. I am your friend and confidante.

Barack: I am upset about Libya. Once again, we are involving ourselves in a situation I am not sure we should be in. I mean, we have issues here in America that need to be addressed and here we are trying to help another country with its civil matters.

Michelle: Yes.

Barack: I have a feeling this is not going to end well.

Michelle: Yes. Once again, the world looks at us as leading by using military force to exact change. Even if the intentions are meant for good.

Barack: China and Russia abstained from voting in the UN Security Council. I just don't know.

Michelle: Barack, I was initially against you running for this office, but I supported you as a wife. I would never say this to anyone else. I know that your power is limited and you really don't run things. We both know who the real powers are. But you need to reassess and above all, do the right thing.

Barack: Yeah. Kennedy did the right thing. Look what happened to him.

Michelle: Man up! Honey, I don't want anything like that to happen to us. And it won't. My advice is to take a look throughout history at military conflicts and use wisdom to help determine how history and God will judge this nation under your leadership. Oh, and listen to your heart.

Barack: Ok.

Michelle: Now, as we prepare for our day in Brazil, here's a joke!

Barack: Oh, no!

Michelle: Confucius Says - Man who run in front of car get tired! Man who run behind car get exhausted! Man with one chopstick go hungry...!

Barack: Yuck!

Michelle: Man who scratch butt should not bite fingernails! Man who eat many prunes get good run for money...!

Barack: Ha ha ha!!

Michelle: Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cathouse! Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night...!

Barack: I know about that one...!

Michelle: Shut up! It take many nails to build crib, but one screw to fill it! Man who drive like hell, bound to get there!

Barack: Ha ha ha!!!

Michelle: War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left!

Barack: Is that supposed to be a message for me?

Michelle: Let's go. We are late! I want to see Brazil!

Stay Tuned for More 'Morning Conversations...' with Barack & Michelle Obama, next time!
