March 5, 2011 - Charlie Sheen

A fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama by Dexter Yarbrough. Seventh in a series.

Barack: You had them bring a TV into the kitchen?

Michelle: Yeah. When you aren't here, sometimes I need a distraction.

Barack: Distraction from what?

Michelle: From the craziness of Washington, DC, Barack!

Barack: Oh. What kind of channels does this thing get?

Michelle: Give me that remote back! This is not for your grubby hands!

Barack: Hey! I want to see if there is anything on about Charlie Sheen.

Michelle: I don't think there's an Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous Channel on here!

Barack: Ha ha ha! Funny! Charlie is a supporter of mine.

Michelle: Charlie NEEDS support!

Barack: You and the rest of the country just don't understand him. He is misunderstood. A really great guy.

Michelle: Charlie Sheen is postal! I told you about these Hollywood people. I heard Matt Damon has now turned against you.

Barack: I am saddened by his comments.

Michelle: Wishy-washy bast---!

Barack: Michelle!

Michelle: Anyway, I had a White House tech set it up so that the only shows coming through are my favorites.

Barack: Oh, gosh! You must mean 'All in the Family' and 'Sanford and Son.'

Michelle: Yep.

Barack: How can you stand Archie Bunker and his racists remarks?!

Michelle: First of all, Mr. President, it was a TV show. Secondly, Archie was not a racist. He was prejudiced. There is a difference. And lastly, if you really watch the show, especially the episodes with the Jefferson's, you would see that this show was a lesson in how people of all stripes can come together with a little more understanding...and communication.

Barack: Really?

Michelle: Yes. Just watch the episodes with Archie and Lionel Jefferson. You'll see that this show was the best ever. Unlike that goof Charlie Sheen and 'Two and a Half Men.' Ridiculous!

Barack: Well, I'm going to give Charlie a call and wish him well.

Michelle: You better wish him a speedy recovery!

Barack: Look at this gift Rahm gave me the other day during his visit.

Michelle: What is it?

Barack: A replica of a canteen that Israeli soldiers used during the Yom Kippur War. He had it cast in silver. Isn't it nice?

Michelle: It's beautiful! You know what you should do?

Barack: What?

Michelle: Fill it up with Bourbon and send it to Charlie! Write a note pretending it's from his ex-wife, Denise Richards!

Barack: That's mean, Michelle! That would send him over the edge.

Michelle: Barack, if Charlie Sheen were to hike the highest mountain, marvel over the 23,000 or so feet he has climbed and skydive off of it, he could never be as high as he is now!

Barack: Gotta, run, Michelle. Behave!

Michelle: Be smart, Barack!

Stay Tuned for More 'Morning Conversations...' with Barack & Michelle Obama, next time!
