The Morning Conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama #3
February 20, 2011 - Dancing
A fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama by Dexter Yarbrough. Third in a series.
Barack: So, Michelle. How'd you like those old school dance moves I showed the girls last night, huh?
Michelle: Barack, you give black folks a bad rep with that dancin' you do. You looked like you were having a seizure!
Barack: That dance was called the 'Funky Chicken.'
Michelle: Funky is right!
Barack: We need to head back to the White House later. I have a busy day tomorrow.
Michelle: I know. What's up with the Wisconsin thing?
Barack: Well, the Dems don't have the votes. Hopefully the unions can help force the issue. If not, it could be a ripple effect around the nation.
Michelle: Well, you know I come from a strong labor family. Working class folks need protections.
Barack: Yep.
Michelle: How is Bill Daley coming along?
Barack: Well, Valerie is getting him caught up on the issues.
Michelle: Good. There are so many Chicago folks around. Makes me more comfortable being in Washington.
Barack: Yep. Did you see that latest poll on the greatest US Presidents?
Michelle: Yeah! Can you believe that Reagan got the highest percentage for 2011? I didn't care for him.
Barack: Yeah! But he was a great speaker. But what kills me is that Bill Clinton came in 3rd place! I mean, he is cool and everything, but dude got caught doing the nasty with an intern! What's up with that?!
Michelle: Yeah, I know! Just don't you do anything with any of these girls around here! I know about these secret tunnels!
Barack: Michelle, you have nothing to worry about! I only have eyes for you!
Michelle: Yeah, right! I'm sure that clown in New York said the same thing to his wife. Responding to an ad on Craigslist - with no shirt on! Crazy!
Barack: You are all the woman I need!
Michelle: Just remember that. Don't have me beat you down like Tiger's wife did to him! Ha ha ha!
Barack: Ha ha ha!!!
Michelle: I just came up with a new dance.
Barack: Really? What's it called?
Michelle: 'The Washington DC Hustle.' See, you start off in the center. Then you move a little to the left. See? Then you move a little to the right. Got it? Now you move your butt in and out, like this. Ok? Then you turn around in a circle. Right? And guess what? You're back in the center again! See?
Barack: I like that!
Michelle: Do it right and it might just get you a second term. And top ratings on the Presidents list. Got it?
Barack: Got it!
Michelle: We'll be ready to leave around 4PM.
