Dexter Yarbrough on Hubpages

When I, Dexter Yarbrough, first came to Hubpages, I didn't know what to expect. Within hours of signing up, I had fan mail welcoming me and a few followers. It really is a great feeling when you are welcomed into a community as opposed to having to find your way alone.

Even though I like the hubs, answering questions and following threads in the forum, the camaraderie and the relationships that are built is what brings me back to Hubpages often each day. The support is magnificent - especially since it is from people you have never met physically. You know that you have a common interest of sharing and helping and seeing others succeed.

My primary interest, upon joining Hubpages, was to write about photography related things. I got into photography more than 15 years and have enjoyed every moment. Being able to tell a story via the use of photos is what I continually strive to accomplish. I have written several hubs on how to take better photos. The hubs above are designed to help you utilize certain techniques to take better photos and are for your viewing pleasure. There is more to taking a photo than pointing and clicking. Proper lighting, composition, posing and visualizing will make dull images come to life. These and my other hubs will help you to take brilliant photos!

The notion to write a fictional account of the private morning conversations of Barack & Michelle Obama came out of nowhere. I thought it would be adventurous to have folks see a side of them that most don't see - albeit fictitiously. I try to relate real-life events to private conversations that many would have if in the same position. It is so much easier to write for Michelle than Barack, mainly because we come from similar type families. She seems more down to earth and he seems more worldly in the sense that he traveled and experienced much as a child.

The series is meant to be humorous and to deliver a subtle message. My purpose is not to be political or insulting to the Obama's. My purpose is to bring humor and enlightenment to the lives of others. The Michelle & Barack series is written as such that you don't have to start with the first in the series. However, you can get a better feel for them by starting at the beginning.

Whether you like the Obama's or not, you get a sense (fictionally) for how they are dealing with life in the White House and how they react to situations happening around them. They have the same types of issues that all Americans have - family issues, communication with each other and trying to make it through a crazy life. I hope you enjoy reading the series!
